We take reservations between the following times:

We usually close between lunch and dinner service with the exception of Sunday when we are open all day.

Monday - Thursday
Lunch: 12pm - 2.00pm
Dinner: 7pm - 9.00pm

Friday & Saturday
Lunch: 12pm - 2.00pm
Dinner: 6pm - 9.00pm

Lunch: 12pm - 3.30pm
Dinner: 7pm - 9.00pm

Please note, the kitchen only takes orders up to 15 minutes after the last reservation time.

We always recommend you make a reservation if you wish to eat with us. You are welcome to pop in and see if there is a table available even if you don’t have a reservation, but please be aware we are quite a small pub with limited capacity so it might not always be possible for us to offer you food.

How To Find Us

If you are driving to see us; leaving Bristol on the A37 and just beyond the village of Pensford at the roundabout at Chelwood, turn right on the A368 signed Weston-super-mare. After approximately 1.5 miles you will see a sign for the Pony & Trap asking you to turn right, signed Chew Magna 2 miles, Winford 5 miles. You will find us about a mile along, on your right.

Taxis: We strongly advise that you pre-book before your visit. We are a 20 minute journey to central Bristol. Del at Chew Cars is fantastic 07831 858 765. You can usually call an Uber home too!

Booking Information

Large Parties

If you are looking to book a table of eight and above we do require a small deposit which is fully refundable up to 7 days prior to your booking. Due to kitchen capacity we can only accommodate large parties either at the beginning or end of service.

Dietary Requirements

At the time of booking please let us know if anyone in your party has an allergy and we will do our very best to tailor a menu to their requirements.
