Josh and Michael cooked together on the latest series of Great British Menu, where he represented Scotland, and after winning his region to making it to the finals, his fish course was shortlisted for the banquet. Chef owner of 64 Degrees in Brighton, Michael Bremner began his career at the Pittodrie House Hotel in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Once qualified he spent three years in London to gain pastry experience working in The Orrery and Quo Vadis.
He then spent a few years travelling and working in different countries, including Australia and Canada. On his return to the UK in 2007 Michael became Head Chef at Due South restaurant in Brighton, where he remained for five years. He followed this with a year as Head Chef at renowned vegetarian restaurant Food for Friends, before undertaking his first business venture, 64 Degrees, which opened in October 2013, attaining countless positive reviews both locally and nationally ever since.
Since opening, 64 Degrees has been voted number 16 in The National Restaurant Awards Top 100 list, obtained a Bib Gourmand from the Michelin Guide as well as being voted Best Restaurant in both the Brighton and Hove Food and Drink Awards and The Brighton Top 20 Awards.
Michael is a firm advocate of relaxed dining, so much so that at the restaurant his chefs are often seen doubling up as waiters.
